At today’s announcement, BD’s Padraig Fitzgerald said ‘A big driver for BD’s decision to set up an organic R&D centre of excellence in Ireland and indeed Limerick was the impressive reputation of the talent pool in the area. We see great synergies and the huge potential this programme offers in ensuring a robust pipeline of great talent in the Software Engineering domain and are excited to be part of it.’
Welcoming the gift, Harvey Duthie said ‘The support will underwrite a classroom suite for ISE students joining UL in September next year. The Foundation is hugely grateful to Padraig and the team at BD for this very generous gift, and for their long-standing support for the University of Limerick.
