Sustainability and Globalisation Debate at Immersive Software Engineering

Sustainability Debate Teams (L to R - 1st year team: Ruan O' Dowd, Tola Bowen-MacCurtain, Mia Borko. Centre: Jack O' Connor, UL Student Sustainability Lead. 2nd year team: Rosie Kennelly, Eoghan O' Mahony, Tamar Orosz)

Well done to everyone who took part in today’s debate in ISE. The debate focused on sustainability and globalisation with teams arguing the motion “In the interest of sustainability, nations should prioritise local production over consumption and globalisation.”

Very thought-provoking arguments were put forward by both teams however the 2nd year team, who were arguing for the motion, emerged victorious.

Thanks to Jack O’ Connor, UL’s Student Sustainability, was on site to judge the debate and to Alison McDevitt (ISE) who organised the session.
